How To Control Your PC With Google Remote Desktop

What You Need to Use Google Remote Desktop
To use Google Remote Desktop, you need two things:
- A Google account.
- The Chrome browser installed on your computer.
Installing Chrome Remote Desktop on Your PC
- Navigate to the Chrome Web Store 11 and enter “Chrome Remote Desktop” into the search bar. Refer to the attached screenshot for the correct application.
- Proceed by clicking on the “Add to Chrome” button.
Installing Chrome Remote Desktop on an iPad
- Open your App Store and type “Chrome Remote Desktop” in the search box.
- Look for the app that matches the picture shown below, then click on “Get” to start downloading it.
How to Set Up Chrome Remote Desktop
- Start by opening the Chrome browser on your desktop and sign in to your Google account.
- Navigate to this website: remotedesktop.google.com/access 3
- Click on the “Download” button and follow the instructions that appear on your screen to install Chrome Remote Desktop.
- After the installation is complete, click on “Turn on” to enable remote access to your computer.
- Give your computer a name and then click “Next”.
- Lastly, create a PIN and click on “Start”.
Using Chrome Remote Desktop to Access Your PC
- Next, go to the device you want to use to access your PC, for example, an iPad.
- Open the “Chrome Remote Desktop” app. You should see a remote device listed. If you don’t, try refreshing the page.
- Tap on the name of the PC you want to connect to, then enter the pin.
And there you have it! You can now remotely access and control your PC or Mac using your iPad. By tapping the small blue icon that looks like a stack of lines (often called a ‘hamburger’), you can adjust your settings. If you select ‘trackpad mode’, you’ll be able to control the mouse on your computer just by touching your iPad screen. You can also type text using a connected keyboard or the on-screen keyboard on your iPad.
Don’t worry if your computer screen doesn’t fit perfectly on your iPad – you can easily zoom in and out by pinching your iPad screen to see everything clearly.
